Solution to Fix Slow Facebook Messenger Freeze Lag Android Lollipop 5 is one of the most hot title now. Hi Guys!! whats up? It’s been a long time since i wrote. Sorry for not being. Now i’m Back. Nowadays every android users are using facebook messenger application rather than using it in default facebook application. Android is getting better every day, now Android Lollipop 5 update is Rolling Out in many Android Devices like HTC ONE M8, Moto G, etc. Even I’m using HTC ONE M8. Since i have updated my phone from Android Kitkat 4.4.4 to Android Lollipop 5.0, i’m facing problems with facebook messenger application. Now i’ve fixed with that. So i wanna share the Solution to fix Facebook Messenger Application Freeze / Lags while sending text Messages.
App Freezing?
When Clicking the Send button once typing text from the Facebook messenger, it takes some time to send the Message and Android Device Freezing for some seconds till the message get sent. It is very frustrating thing for 24/7 chatters. So they might be planning to downgrade from Android Lollipop 5.0.1 to Kikat 4.4. If you are one of them, please stop thinking about downgrade. To fix this problem your Android Device must be Developer Option Enabled.
How to Enable Developer Option in Android Mobile?
To enable developer option in your mobile, first you have to find where “Build Number” is located in your Android Settings menu.
Here are some approximate locations for the Build Number Display.
Default Stock Android: Settings > About phone > Build number
Samsung Galaxy S5: Settings > About device > Build number
LG G3: Settings > About phone > Software information > Build number
HTC ONE M8: Settings > About > Software information > More > Build number
After finding location of you Build Number, Tap the Build Number continuously for Seven Times. While pressing it will be displaying like “you are now X steps away from being a developer”.
Once clicking it 7 Times, you will see a message like “You are a Developer Now”. That’s it!! You have enabled your Developer Option.
This is the Important step to solve the Facebook messenger Freezing problem.
If you are done enabling Developer Options, go to your Settings Page > click Developer Options.
1. In Developer Options Page Scroll down and find the option Use NuPlayer (experimental)
2. By Default it will be Ticked.
3. Just Untick the Option.
Once Untick, Just Restart you Android Mobile and try using Facebook Messenger App.
You will be wondered, seeing no Freeze or Lag or Hang.

What a coincidence… just yesterday I was looking around the developer options and spotted this NuPlayer option and unticked it, purely because it said “experimental”! But I didn’t even notice the freeze on Facebook had gone, but it absolutely has. Nice job!
I have a Moto G. I could not find Use NuPlayer under Developer options. Any suggestions? TIA.
